Industrial Photography
My industrial photography has taken me on numerous trips to remote mining facilities, water treatment plants across Australia and New Zealand, the desalination plant, Torrens Island power station and a significant number of smaller factory operations. Places that I would never have been privy to without a camera in my hands.
What makes a viable advertising photograph?
The ultimate goal is to create a photograph that resonates with the target audience and can generate a sense of connection towards the object or brand. The subject matter is the lure to pique interest, and the way the image is composed and lit is the berley to motivate them to linger and absorb the message.
Mentoring
Mentoring isn't something I planned to take on but I fairly consistently get asked to discuss the pathways to a creative future. It’s a privilege and deeply rewarding to be in a position to help join the dots between the fledgling maker in front of me and the established creative they would like to become.
Photographing children
The child being photographed should feel that everything is under control and that they are at the centre of something that is great fun. Importantly they also need to understand that with their help we can make something really special.
