Extracting the most from photoshoot: Editing
I see a photographer's fundamental purpose is to maintain or develop the highest level of refinement for the client's visual identity. This is why harsh editing after a photoshoot is such a vital aspect of quality control. Stringent editing ensures the client is only ever presented with a concise choice of the most suitable photographs.
The editing process is successful when you can present the client with 10-15% more images than they need for the application. This edited collection of photos must be beautiful, speak directly to the brief and be technically perfect. Hopefully making their final selection as difficult as possible; for all the right reasons. The outcome is the client has choices but can’t actually make a bad decision.
