Philosophy and approach to photography
Commercial Photographer Andy Rasheed | South Australia
Industrial Photography
My industrial photography has taken me on numerous trips to remote mining facilities, water treatment plants across Australia and New Zealand, the desalination plant, Torrens Island power station and a significant number of smaller factory operations. Places that I would never have been privy to without a camera in my hands.
A crash course in event photography
Getting thorough photographic coverage of a major corporate event requires a broad photographic skillset. Potentially, I'll need to do portraiture, architectural photography, action/performance photography, low light photography and food photography. I need to quickly respond and document what unfolds before me.
What makes a viable advertising photograph?
The ultimate goal is to create a photograph that resonates with the target audience and can generate a sense of connection towards the object or brand. The subject matter is the lure to pique interest, and the way the image is composed and lit is the berley to motivate them to linger and absorb the message.

Location Car Photography; Light Painting
Photography of any vehicle is challenging, in fact, I can’t think of many objects which are more complex to shoot. A car is a large object made up of a mixture of highly reflective complex curves with a combination of finishes that extend from mirror to matt, with potential colour ranges from gloss white to mat black.
Photographing children
The child being photographed should feel that everything is under control and that they are at the centre of something that is great fun. Importantly they also need to understand that with their help we can make something really special.
Photography; the Art of Compromise
By virtue of the way a camera captures an image, photography is a practice inherently built around compromise. The limitations and challenges are a huge part of what makes photography so complex and engaging.

This is a deep dive into how I tackle making photographs using long exposures at night.
